Proxy settings are used when your macOS computer is connected to a network that requires a proxy server to access internet. These can be discarded when your computer is directly connected to the router or the router installed is the default gateway for accessing the internet. Disabling a proxy, or proxy settings, will allow your Wickr Pro to access Wickr services (as an example registering your app). These instructions are for locally controlled Admin access for individual users or smaller organizations and simple to do.
(Note: For larger organizations who have controlled proxies in use by your IT organization, Wickr will soon provide an in-app ability to have users enter their domain logins to operate with your organization's proxy server.)
The following instructions will show you how to disable the proxy settings for Wi-Fi on your Mac computer.
Step 1:
Click the Apple icon then select the System Preference option.
Step 2:
Select Network.
Step 3:
From the left pane, select the network service you wish to disable the proxy settings on, then click the Advanced button.
Step 4:
Select the Proxies tab then uncheck all protocols under Select a protocol to configure then click OK once done.
Done! You have now successfully disabled the proxy settings on your Mac computer.
