Why am I seeing a notification saying that my messages may be retained?

With the AWS Wickr 6.18 release, all AWS Wickr/Pro customers with local or global federation turned “On” will now see an automated message in any room that has “external” users, will state: “This room has external members. Messages in this room can be retained based on external organizations’ policies.”

This message is only to inform users that conversations with another organization or team may fall under that organization’s compliance policies. It does not expose the status (on or off) of your data retention policy to any external networks or users. The message will only be displayed once per room, per device, to each user in a Direct Message, Group or Room with any external member(s).
