Mobile:
Add Contact and Create 1:1 Direct Messages from Contacts Screen
You can add contacts by clicking on the Wickr hamburger "Menu->Contacts" on mobile devices and searching for their username. Tapping their username will create a new Wickr Direct Message and add them to your Contacts list.
Group Conversation:
To make a Group conversation, you must use the notepad/pen icon (iOS) or pen icon (Android) in the "Rooms" tab. After you have added your desired Contacts to the new Group, press "Create" to start the new Group and add the username(s) to your Contacts list.

On desktop clients, you can use either the hamburger "Menu->Contacts" or the pen and paper icon to the right of your username (top left of the app) to search for and add a new Wickr Contact, or search for current Contacts, then select the Contact to create a 1:1 Direct Message.
Group Conversation:
Click the pen and paper icon, select "New Group Message," then enter the username(s) in the search field, and hit "Enter" to search. If Wickr finds the Contact(s), you can then click on the Contact(s) and click "Create" to start a new Group.
Using Wickr's "Add Phone Number" option is another method to add your current phone contacts who may already be in Wickr. See more at: Add Phone Number
Removing Contacts:
You can remove contacts on mobile or desktop clients by clicking/tapping their profile icon, and selecting the "Block" option.

NOTE: There is no way to remove a user from a Group as there are no moderators in Groups, only in Rooms (AWS Wickr only).
